SG0147/SG0136: Unable to connect to the Backup Server

Cause:

This error occurs when

  1. Client is not able to connect to the Backup Server's Backup Port (default 32004).

  2. Giga Vault Storage is not started in the server machine, therefore Backup Port (default 32004) is not occupied by Giga Vault Storage.

Resolution:

  1. Confirm if the client is able to connect the Backup Server's Backup Port (default 32004) by executing telnet <Server Name/IP Address> <Backup Port> command in the Giga Vault Storage Client system through the command prompt.

  2. If the telnet command doesn't work, then check for any firewalls either on the system or on the network that may be blocking the port or the application.
